Snow Day!!
The Boys headed out in the snow as early as I would let them! Tyler and Karson went down the hill closest to the creek...I was just waiting for them to go in.
Cameron opted for the safer route (in theory) ~ This says so much about their personalities!

Really wish I had lenses for my camera so I could zoom in from my porch! But if you look across the street you can see our mailboxes down for the 2nd time today!
Plow knocked them down once and the neighbor went out and fixed them. 3 hours later they were back down again! I know I should just be thankful that the plows were out and did our street - but come on...twice!

Cameron loves his new penguin sled!
Well, we're suppose to get snow everyday this week so I'll be posting more pictures for my Florida Friends...This is somehow suppose to make you jealous as you are laying out on the beach. :-)
Ahhhh....Warmth! We finally got our cast iron wood burner up and running! Eric worked hard all day redoing everything! It's not completley finished, we plan on putting stone on the built-up he made and possibly the whole wall behind. But we wanted to make sure it worked before we (Eric) did all the work! It does and made it a toasty 81 degrees in the room! It was like walking into Grandma's house!! It was so warm that Tyler who usually sleeps in the basement begged to sleep upstairs in our dining/sitting room! I let him. When he woke up it was 64 degrees after the fire went out.

Owen enjoyed our speghetti dinner ~ and how awesome am I to let him eat it in a WHITE shirt....duh!!

I'm so glad we live in this house now...the older features of the home our growing on me. Especially the fireplaces!

Christmas 2008

The boys with their cousins Megan, Henry & Ethan.

(I did red-eye fix on this picture and it still wouldn't go away? Not sure why?)

Christmas at The Butterfield's

This is always a fun time for the boys to go to Grandma & Grandpa's! Their cousins are there and they love to play with them. Grandpa reads the Christmas story as the kids act it out this year they did flannelgraph! They seemed to enjoy that! No cotton to pull off and throw :-)
Anyway, it was a very nice time.

Tyler and Cameron being goofy on Christmas Eve!

My New Years "Resolutions"

Well - I usually don't make them - cause I tend to break them all too soon. But I thought maybe if I just think of them as "goals" I'd do better. On my facebook status I posted that I was procrastinating taking down the tree...and I actually thought ...wow...I need to change that! So I took it down! and I felt so good! Accomplishment! So I figure if I write down these goals...lay it out there on the table ~ for other people to see then maybe I would feel accountable? So here goes:
lets see...the obvious...Loose weight. ~ has been and will be on the list til the day I die. hmmmm.
be more organized.
Read through the Bible.
Do more with the kids.
Go to the Y at least 3 times a week.

Okay - I'm sure I could add a lot more - but I don't want to completely set myself up for failure - so we'll leave it at that.

A little behind...but here goes!

Okay - so I if you don't know be by now...I'm a procrastinator....so - I'm seriously going to keep up on this blogging...we'll call it, one of many "resolutions"!

Anyway...We had a wonderful Christmas morning! I split my wrapping into two nights so I wasn't up till 2:00am as in previous years!

We talked and talked about "scaling back" this Christmas. But as I was setting out all the gifts for the kids - I thought wow...they have sooo much! There is just something about buying gifts for other people! I truly love to do it! I guess you could call it my "love language" . I sometimes just wish there were more funds to do it!
The boys would be happy would just about anything - they are pretty easy to please. It was fun watching them open and their surprise. Cameron got a bit worried Christmas eve that he had not officially given Santa a list ... so about 9:30 pm - he's getting ready for bed and he comes out and puts a note on the Christmas tree... that says Dear Santa: and has about 4 things on this list....none of course that had been purchased by us! But he was just a thrilled by the things he received.
We started out by having Tyler read Luke 2 - then we started the gifts. It's funny how you start out so organized and think - okay we're going to do this orderly....then about 10 minutes in - it's like a mad race to open! Then 5 minutes later - everything is open and it's all over - and I think wow - all that wrapping and planning and it's over so fast! Maybe I need to take the 9 days of gifts approach - so they unwrap and enjoy each thing. ;-)
Owen loves his ride on horse! But boy is it LOUD!
Karson loves his Indy Jones whip!

Cameron and his snowman webkinz!

Tyler 's big gift was a Nintendo Ds Lite - It unfortunately didn't come by Christmas ~ so I had to get creative and just print out a picture! He was just thrilled to know he was getting it! Nice that he is at the age that he can comprehend that too! Don't try that with a 3 year old!
~Well - trying to get these pictures uploaded has given me a headache! I need to get a blogging for dummies book? Or maybe Angie can offer a blogging / photography class - I'll be the first to sign up!~
